7cb1d79195 When a man is released from prison, he meets with his twin to assist him in getting back on his feet. Shortly after leaving a bar together, there is a turn of tragic events, and it becomes evident that their lives have taken remarkably different paths.
A pair of twins take opposing paths: one is a cop and the other a con man. Until the night one is killed and his brother assumes his identity.
OK, the start of the movie is kinda cheesy. It's been played out since Jean Claude Van Damme did it, and I'm not talking about Double Impact, I'm talking about Maximum Overdrive (That's right Jean Claude did it twice).<br/><br/>As it turned out the movie became a pretty good cop drama with Larenz Tate playing twins, who went down two different paths (Do I really need to explain the paths they went down? OK) one became a cop and one became a criminal who just got out of jail. Then the good cop twin is killed and the crooked twin takes his place (Almost Mimicking the plot to Maximum Overdrive).<br/><br/>It's interesting to see how a crook becomes a cop. At first it was hard but then it got easy when they put him undercover to take down the guy bringing the drugs to the Bronx, so the crook gets to get into his element.<br/><br/>The film could have been better as they had an opportunity to get more in depth with the idea of a man pretending to be something he's not but I guess they wanted to give the essence that this guy is quick enough on his feet to blend in (Really nailing this ideal of how thin a line cops and criminals have and it's easy to cross over).<br/><br/>Larenz Tate was awesome in it. Especially with the fight scenes that showcase the 51 pick up marshal arts style that was created in prison. I've only seen it one other time on film (Tony Jaa's the Protector two, which only proves what a diverse phenomenon Jaa is the the marshal arts game). Thankfully he did not have to focus on being two people for the whole movie, and his performance as a crook trying to be a cop was good.<br/><br/>Gun Hill is definitely a movie you should checkout.<br/><br/>http://cinemagardens.com
One one brother (a cop) dies, another brother (a con man) steps in to take his place.<br/><br/>This is actually a really good film. The plot is clever, the acting is good. You might not expect much for a made-for-TV film, but it is every bit as good as what you would see in the theater. Also, being made for BET, you might think it caters to a specific audience. Not so. This is a film for anyone who likes crime stories.<br/><br/>Seeing how the lead character weaves between the police department and the underground world of meth dealing in Queens is quite interesting, very well-written and executed. Hopefully with it being on Netflix, this will gain some traction and pick up some extra viewers and positive word of mouth.
